August 2020 My Favorite Plant

How to choose a favorite plant when there are so many wonderful ones out there to choose from?! I have a love for any and all plants for their uniqueness and beauty, but my all-time favorite would be HOYAS!!

Hoyas come in many shapes and varieties. They have different variegations in pale pink, white, and greens. Some plants have long slender leaves, while others are short and round. My favorite part about these plants are the blooms! Hoyas have to have quite particular conditions to bloom, and the flowers only last for a day or so. They are so worth the work though! The fragrance is wonderful and unique. The flowers themselves are the cutest darn thing you have ever seen. They almost look like piece of candy.

Another thing about hoyas that is very near and dear to my heart is that I have been gifted several of my most favorite ones. Some of my hoyas have come from different countries! They are so special to me. It’s a connection to fellow plant lovers. The world is not so big when we find common interests. You make lasting friendships with those you share plants with.

I have several varieties of hoyas in my home and shop. With so many plants I usually have one blooming here and there. Stop on by and check them out. Beware, it will get you hooked on these super cool plants. Not to worry though, I’ll be sure to keep some on hand for purchase in my shop.

If you have more questions about hoyas or anything plant related, please feel free to contact me here.

Happy planting friends! I’ll be back next month to talk about fertilizers to help your plants achieve their full potential.
